Faldo has shown enough glimpses of form over the last 12 months to persuade the romantics that he could just pull off a big shock at this year's Masters. Faldo is already part of Augusta folklore after victories in 1989, 1990 and most memorably 1996 when he overcame a six-shot third round deficit to beat Greg Norman by five. Faldo's 14th place last year was his best finish since his 1996 victory and he emerged with further credit after a top five finish at the US Open two months later. Faldo has shown further signs of a revival this year by finishing second in the Heineken Classic in Australia and also played some good stuff at Bay Hill and Sawgrass on his last two US starts. Few know how to plot their way round Augusta as well as Faldo and he could just make a big impression.
