US MASTERS PROFILE
Duval had one arm in the green jacket four years in a row between 1998 and 2001. He was overtaken by a fast-finishing Mark O'Meara in 1998, took sixth in 1999, was third to Vijay Singh after being tied for the lead on the final day in 2000 and again hit the front on Sunday in 2001 before missing makeable putts at the final two holes and finishing second to Tiger Woods. But although he's since made the major breakthrough by winning the British Open at Lytham in 2001, Duval arrives at Augusta this year with his game in tatters. The former world number one has missed five cuts in six starts and is a combined 26-over-par. Duval was diagnosed with positional vertigo, an inner ear problem that results in brief, violent bursts of dizziness, earlier in the year and although he's recovered his game looks way too off balance for him to challenge this year.
