US MASTERS PROFILE
Despite scoring those never to be forgotten victories at the 1991 USPGA and the 1995 British Open at St Andrews, it's the US Masters that has always looked the best fit for Daly's game. His prodigious length and superb short game are the perfect recipe for Augusta and he's proved it by making seven cuts out of eight, including a tied third on his second visit in 1993. Although he's only cracked the top 20 twice, his figures are misleading as he's often lost concentration on the final day when his winning chance has gone. Final rounds of 78, 81, 78, 75 and 81 between 1994 and 1998 highlight the point. But there's plenty in the Daly camp who believe 'Wild Thing' can go all the way this year. Daly has been lurking near the top of leaderboards on both European and US Tours this year and although his very latest form isn't great it would come as no surprise if his game caught fire again at Augusta. The lengthening of the course should play right into his hands and if he gets a smell of victory he could be the man.
