US MASTERS PROFILE
In just three years on Tour Weir has proved he has an extra touch of class. He first appeared on the radar in 1999 when leading the USPGA Championship after three rounds. On that occasion he looked phased when partnering Tiger Woods in the final round and finished 10th. But the following year he proved he'd learned from that experience when beating a world-class field at the World Golf Championship-American Express Championship at Valderrama. He again showed his liking for the big-time when capturing the end-of-season Tour Championship last season. Weir has said he thinks that the US and British Opens represent his best chances of winning a major but he's performed creditably on his two visits to Augusta and is capable of winning in this company. With four tops 20s under his belt in his last four starts he's in the right sort of form to make a big impression.
