Olazabal joined an elite list by winning his second US Masters in magnificent style in 1999. It confirmed the Spaniard as one of the great players around Augusta in the modern era and also highlighted his ice-cool nerve under pressure. Ollie's first green jacket came in 1994 and as well as his second triumph in 1999 he also finished second in 1991 and has made the top 15 in 10 of his last 11 visits. Judging by his superb form this year he has to have a live chance of landing a third green jacket. He sits second on the European Order of Merit and is the third top US earner after a win and five top fives in his eight starts in 2002. Whether the lengthening of the course will hurt his chances remains to be seen although his magical short game will always serve him well here.
