Duval finally shook off the dreaded Best Player Not To Have Won A Major Tag when producing two sparkling rounds over the weekend to land the British Open by three shots at Royal Lytham last year. It finally signalled the return to form of player who took Tiger Woods' number one spot with a dazzling start to 1999 which included a round of 59 and four victories. Next on Duval's list is a US Masters crown and he's had one arm in the green jacket for the last four years. He took overtaken by a fast-finishing Mark O'Meara in 1998, took sixth in 1999, was third to Vijay Singh after being tied for the lead on the final day in 2000 and again hit the front on Sunday 12 months ago before missing makeable putts at the final two holes and finishing second to Tiger Woods. Duval's form this year is moderate but he always comes alive at Augusta and must have a huge chance.
