It is fair to say that Scott has not yet conquered the challenge of Open Championship golf but it will surely only be a matter of time before he finds himself in contention. One of the most gifted young golfers in the world, it seems about time he added a major title to his CV and the relatively open expanses of the Old Course at St Andrews should suit him ideally. He was right in contention 12 months ago before falling away over the weekend at Troon - expect that experience not to be lost on him.
