THE OPEN PROFILE
Perry continues to be one of the US Tour's elite players and two more victories in 2005 have taken his tally to nine. The second came at Colonial recently where he once again gave a masterclass in ball-striking to rout his field by seven shots and claim another plaid jacket. Whether he can kick on and capture a first major title is open to question but, having played in this event just once until two years ago, he's enjoyed his recent trips across the Atlantic, finishing eighth at Sandwich in 2003 and 16th at Troon last time.
