Donald's reputation on the world stage continues to grow and it would be enhanced yet further if he were to make the weekend here - something he has not managed in five Open Championship appearances. But the man from Buckinghamshire will be looking for much more than that and there is no obvious reason why he will not challenge strongly. He has superb technique, a solid short game and a big-match temperament up with the best. It will be hugely disappointing if he does not improve drastically on his Open record to date.
