THE OPEN PROFILE
It's hard to believe that the sparky Spaniard is still just 24 considering the amount he has crammed into his career to date. Despite those tender years, many are still surprised that his CV does not contain a Major title. Swing changes undertaken in 2003 led to a blank season on the PGA Tour but that has been rectified this year with a play-off win at the Byron Nelson in Texas and then another triumph at the Buick Classic. Garcia has bagged top 10 finishes in the last three Opens and he is certainly on the shortlist for contenders again and this might well be his year.
