The 25-year-old battered the bookies for the second successive week when he followed up his recent Open Championship success and victory in the WGC Bridgestone Invitational by landing his second USPGA title at Valhalla.

The World No1’s one stroke victory over Phil Mickelson secured him his fourth Major crown, and made him the third youngest player since Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus to win four Majors.

McIlroy is already as short as 4/1 to win his first Green Jacket next April and the same price to retain his Open crown at St Andrew’s next July.

Sky Bet’s Head of Golf Trading, John Rhodes said: "The last three events McIlroy has competed in have been a dream for punters but a nightmare for bookmakers.

"He was 16/1 for the Open, 7/1 for the WGC event and went off as 5/1 favourite for the USPGA and was a big loser in the book.

"He’s playing the best golf of his career right now and I’m sure plenty of punters will snap up the 25/1s available for him to win the next two majors."

The online bookmaker are also offering 9/2 for the Northern Irishman to repeat this year’s feat by securing two Majors in 2015, 20/1 for three and 125/1 for the clean sweep.

Before then he will form part of the European Ryder Cup team who defend the trophy against the USA at Gleneagles in September.

It’s no surprise to see McIlroy as a 4/1 shot to be Europe’s top points scorer in the event from Justin Rose (5/1) with Henrik Stenson and Sergio Garcia, both 6/1 shots.

Rickie Fowler, who was the punters' most popular choice for each-way bets at Valhalla, was placed for the fourth consecutive major and is available at 80/1 to be placed in all four majors next year and 9/2 to win one in 2015.
