  • So that's it for the 2012 majors. Narrow wins for Bubba Watson, Webb Simpson and Ernie Els in the first three and rounded off by an absolute landslide victory by Rory in the last. What a man!

    00:03
  • Maybe a little symbolic that Rory wore red on the final day and trounced everyone. Remind you of what someone used to do?

    23:59
  • On comes Rory's dad Gerry to give his son a big hug.

    23:57
  • Pettersson makes his par at 18 to tie for third, leaving David Lynn in solo second.

    23:56
  • Rory also returns to world number one.

    23:55
  • He knocks it in!!!! Rory McIlroy is the champion by a massive eight shots. What a way to close it out. A brilliant 66 today and he's done it in style.

    23:54
  • So, Rory has a putt of maybe 20 feet to win by eight and match his winning margin from Congressional 2011.

    23:54
  • 'Rory, Rory, Rory,' shout the crowds as they rise to their feet.

    23:51
  • Rory hits his second onto the green (it just trickles into the apron) and enjoys the walk up 18. An absolutely commanding performance.

    23:50
  • So 4 of the last 11 majors have gone the way of Northern Ireland!

    23:48
  • Current top 10 comprises 5 from GB & N Ireland, 2 Swedes and 3 Americans. Where were the internationals?

    23:46
  • Steve Stricker birdies the last to move up to tied seventh.

    23:45
  • A par here would make it three rounds of 67 for Rory. And although his round two was a 75 the average score that day was 78 due to the high winds.

    23:44
  • Rory's final tee-shot is a beauty. Long and straight!

    23:42
  • Got to love David Lynn's honesty. He describes his position (solo second) as 'surreal'.

    23:41
  • Rory simply can't miss. Effortlessly rolls in a 10 footer for par at 17 and stays bogey-free and seven clear.

    23:39
  • Pettersson pars 17 so he remains tied third. Lynn still alone in solo second.

    23:38
  • Luke Donald finished with a 66 earlier. But where was that over the first three rounds when it counted? Currently in tied 32nd.

    23:35
  • Graeme McDowell bogeyed 18 earlier to drop back into the bunch in tied 10th.

    23:33
  • Rory plays a water avoidance shot at 17, dragging his tee-shot left of the green.
