| CAREER SUMMARY |
 |
|
Appeared from nowhere in 1999 to win the Kemper Open on just his 12th start on the PGA Tour but had to wait three year more years for his next success - then exploded. He landed a thrilling and emotional success at the Sprint International before reappearing a fortnight later to claim major honours at the PGA Championship. He displayed a fearless approach, particular in the latter, as he went eyeball-to-eyeball with Tiger Woods and came out on top. An unpredictable player, there are no doubts about his resolve and could well take to the unique test which is links golf. His sole appearance at this event was a missed cut in 1999 so little in the way of a conclusion can be drawn.
