Davis Love is the new favourite with the bookmakers to win the Open Championship. The American, who leads by two strokes after a second round 71, is as low as 2/1 with Ladbrokes having been a 6/1 chance at the start of play. Hills and Blue Square both go 9/4 with Victor Chandler biggest at 11/4. Second favourite in all lists is Tiger Woods who is as low as 11/4 (Hills) and as big as 7/2 (Ladbrokes). For a while it looked as though the world number one would challenge for the lead when he was level par with seven to play. He then four-putted the 381-yard 12th
for a double bogey and begins the third round three over par, four shots off the lead. Our headline pre-tournament selection Ernie Els is a further shot adrift having got himself back into the reckoning with a brilliant 68. He is third favourite in all lists, at 10/1 with Blue Square and Hills but 12s at Ladbrokes and Chandlers. Sergio Garcia is handily placed on two over par, and while he is as low as 12s with Chandlers and Hills, Blue Square and Ladbrokes are a more dismissive 16/1. Vijay Singh, like Woods on three-over par, is another big name towards the head of the lists with Chandlers biggest at 18s.
