BRITISH OPEN PROFILE
The Dubliner has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of seasons and is starting to make his mark on the big stage. He was the early leader in the US Masters back in April and although never threatening to win he did well to hold on for fifth. Harrington now has three top five finishes in the Majors, although he's suffered huge frustration by finishing runner-up in regular European Tour events on no less than 15 occasions. He finished 18th at Lytham back in 1996, before coming fifth at Troon a year later. Heads to Muirfield in great form having finished eighth at the US Open, sixth in the Murphy's Irish Open and second at the Smurfit European Open. Certainly has the game and temperament to win a Major and is one of Europe's leading hopes to win this year's tournament.
