Since his win in the US Open at Tulsa last year, the shy South African has won six more times, becoming the first non-European to win the Order of Merit since Greg Norman in 1982, earning over £3million and climbing into the world's top five. Confirmed himself as a top class player with a second place in this year's US Masters, although he missed the cut when trying to defend his US Open title at Bethpage. After a slight dip in form he has bounced back in recent weeks with a second place in the Smurfit European Open and a 14th at Loch Lomond. In the British Open he has had three top 15 finishes in his last five starts and must been seen as a serious contender at Muirfield.
