After several seasons of consistent excellence, Duval has become a complete enigma. For the last couple of years he's been a constant disappointment and yet in amongst the missed cuts and three-putts he produced a wonderful performance to land the British Open - his first Major - at Royal Lytham last year. After that win many people thought this season would see Duval return to the top of his game. However, this couldn't haven't been further from the case with the former world number one a shadow of the player he once was. He missed the cut at this year's US Masters and US Open and heads to Muirfield to defend his title having failed to make the weekend in four of his last six tournaments. It's hard to make a case for Duval this time around, although it would be foolish to completely write him off.
