Ian Woosnam shot a third round 73 as his challenge for the 131st Open Championship faded.

Woosie started the day on two over par just eight shots off the lead and was looking for a good round to push him up the leaderboard.

And birdies at three and four took him to level par for the tournament and with a chance of finishing the day close to the top 20.

But a double bogey at 10 and a further bogey at 14 sapped his challenge and he stood four over in the clubhouse.
