A magical short game and a wonderful nerve are the perfect recipe to win Majors and they were the key elements in Ollie's two Masters wins in 1994 and 1999. His wayward driving has cost him the opportunity to seriously contend in the other Majors although he was third in the Open in 1992 when he birdied five of the last 10 holes to get within two of winner Nick Faldo. He finished tied 20th at Lytham back in 1996 and 14th the year later. He didn't play in last year's Open at St Andrews because of injury and heads to Lytham in an awful run of form. Ollie easily missed the cut in the recent US Open at Southern Hills, and has failed to recover with further early exits coming in both the Murphy's Irish Open and the Smurfit European Open. However, it would take a brave man to completely rule him out of this year's tournament.
