Garcia's two wins on the US Tour in the last two months mean he heads to Lytham with huge expectations on his still young shoulders. He was a brilliant second behind Tiger Woods in the 1999 US PGA and a month later the Spanish sensation became the youngest-ever Ryder Cup player. In last year's Open he started brightly before fading over the weekend to finish outside top 30. He did miss the cut at Lytham as an amateur back in 1996 but since he has become one of the leading players in world golf. Garcia had a genuine chance to win the US Open at Southern Hills last time but he wilted during the final round and could only finish 12th. Hotly fancied to make another bold bid this year and if he can handle the pressure when in contention he must have a serious chance.
