1971: Born November 9, Jacksonville, Florida.
1991: Played in British Amateur Championship - where he reached the
semi-finals - and Walker Cup.
1993: Turned professional. Finished 11th on money list despite playing in just
nine events.
1995: Finished runner-up in three events in his rookie season on the US Tour.
1997: Won last three events of year to finish second in official earnings. Won
Michelob Championship for first tour title, following with wins at Walt Disney
World/Oldsmobile Classic and Tour Championship.
1998: Led Presidents Cup team eligibility list. Earned Byron Nelson Award and
Vardon Trophy with lowest scoring average (69.13) and Arnold Palmer Award for
earnings (2,591,031).
1999: Became world number one. Was first player since 1974 to win four times
before the US Masters - and was first US Tour player to win 2million in season.
2000: Won Buick Challenge.
2001: Won first Major, the Open at Royal Lytham, finishing three shots clear.
