Curry - run of pars finally came to an end (Allsport).

COLD CURRY

Paul Curry's amazing run of consecutive pars finally came to an end in the final round of the Open at Royal Lytham.

Curry, who won the 1994 Jersey Open on the European Tour but currently plays on the Buy.Com tour in America, made 36 pars in a row after a birdie on the seventh hole in his second round.

The run, which included his entire third round yesterday, was finally ended when the 40-year-old bogeyed the 419-yard eighth today.

In 1987 Nick Faldo famously parred all 18 holes in the final round to win the first of his six major titles at the Open at Muirfield, beating Paul Azinger to the title.
