SCHU THEORISTS SPINNING A YARN

The conspiracy theories about Michael Schumacher deliberately spinning off to make things more interesting in Shanghai were amazing.

Don't forget this is a man who prides himself on his skill and fitness - would he chuck something like that to entertain us all from the back?

There were some mutterings from the paddock and we interviewed Jock Clear, one of the top engineers at BAR and he certainly didn't feel felt that way.

I didn't feel that way and I think the facts of the matter are that he had a big wobble going into the last corner as he went into his flying lap.

He sometimes performs badly under pressure and he was under pressure there as he was last to go.

He got the tyres dirty and got up onto the kerb and really made a bad error going too fast down the straight.

It was quite dusty and dirty and Bruni had gone off there earlier.

Now he hasn't had a win since Hungary and Raikkonen has beaten him and now also Barrichello and the focus of attention at Ferrari has switched to a degree to Rubens because Michael has done it all.

He feels a little but put out and he is a little bit out of sorts and just look at him spinning during the race.

He was pretty untidy because he was making other mistakes during the race and getting a puncture.

It was just one of those things.
