It seems that Ralf Schumacher is itching to get back into the Williams car after his accident at Indianapolis but I would have my doubts.
It looks like the doctors have ruled out a return for the next Grand Prix but his return might upset their continuity.
If I was in the team situation I would not want the disruption of Ralf coming back
Contracts aside, I would say to Ralf to go away and get yourself better for 2005.
What you have got with Antonio Pizzonia at the moment is continuity and he was running in a podium position at Spa before his gearbox problem.
He is working well with Juan Pablo Montoya and he has been doing a lot of the testing so he is very relevant with them at the moment.
With four races left, why would they want to have the interruption and bring back a driver who is leaving to go to Toyota anyway.
How much is he going to learn about the latest updates on the BMW engine or the latest on the aerodynamics.
Why should they then give him a lot of the information and he is going to take it to Toyota.
Contractually, they might be obliged to take him back and I understand there is an insurance situation with a policy paying out for the races he can't make.
But I suggest that Williams and BMW will find ways of keeping him out of the seat for the rest of the year.
