Lap 38: Kobayashi - sitting pretty in P10 following his only pit stop of the afternoon - is suffering from understeer.
Lap 37: Fisichella is in last place - P18 - following his drive-through penalty earlier. The other backmarkers are Grosjean, Sutil and Liuzzi.
Lap 36: Just the two retirements so far - Hamilton who had a right-rear brake problem and Alguersauri who ran out of fuel.
Lap 35: Alonso puts some pressure on Kobayashi and passes him without much effort. He doesn't stay out in front of the Japanese driver for long though as he makes his final pit stop in the Renault car. He returns to the track in P14.
Lap 34: The worst car on the grid (copyright Fernando Alonso) is in P11. The Spaniard, though, is yet to make a pit stop.
Lap 33: Giancarlo Fisichella makes his way into the pitlane for his drive-through penalty for speeding in the pitlane.

Lap 27: Vettel has opened a nine second lead on Webber. The Aussie doesn't help himself as he runs wide.
SKYBET: "Vettel 1/6, Webber 4/1, Button 14/1 is the new betting after Hamilton's shock mechanical retirement."
Lap 26: The word on Alguersauri's retirement is that he went into the wrong garage and then ran out of fuel. Rookie mistake.
Lap 25: Kimi Raikkonen - who is on a one-stopper - is now right up there and finds himself just 0.7 seconds behind Rubens Barrichello who is P5.
Lap 24: Kumai Kobayashi is in P3 and 5.4 seconds ahead of Jenson Button.
Lap 23: It gets worse for Alguersauri as he has been forced to stop.

Lap 18: Button has pitted as well and comes out behind Kumai Kobayashi, flings his Brawn past the Toyota driver who immediately fights back.
Lap 18: Lewis Hamilton pits from the lead and is stationary for 8.6 seconds. The Brit almost gets it wrong as he goes through the tunnel, losing the backend of his McLaren, but is able to pull it together and is back in the race.
Lap 17: Barrichello is in P10 after his stop.
Lap 16: Rubens Barrichello and Robert Kubica pit. Barrichello is in for 9.0 and safely comes out ahead of Raikkonen. Kubica came out ahead of Kovalainen.
SKYBET: "Vettel is flying, and into 8/13 favourite. We all expected Lewis to forge ahead, but hes out to 13/8 as he looks to have nothing in reply to the Red Bull pace. That's bad news for Skybet, who have laid Vettel heavily ahead of the race."
Lap 15: Kumai Koboyashi is keeping Kimi Raikkonen at bay in P11. The Ferrari driver hasn't had a great weekend.
Lap 14: Webber ups the pressure on his team-mate with a new fastest lap. Vettel meanwhile is still just one second behind race leader Lewis Hamilton.
Lap 13: The first round of pit stops are coming up and Hamilton has not managed to shake off the Red Bulls. To make matters worse, the Brawns are also not far behind.
Lap 12: Barrichello again equals the best time for the first sector, but he is still 2.4sec behind team-mate Jenson Button.
Lap 11: The closest battle on the grid is now for P1 between Hamilton and Vettel. The Red Bull driver is just 0.9 behind the race leader. Other battles include Buemi and Rosberg for P9 and Adrian Sutil and Jaime Alguersauri for P19.
Lap 10: Webber briefly grabs the fastest lap, but it doesn't last long as Hamilton comes back with a 1:40.769.

Lap 8: The Red Bulls are on the charge as Vettel and Webber set fastest laps in quick succession.
Lap 7: The worst cars on the grid - according Fernando Alonso - are way down in P17 and P18.
Lap 6: Although Hamilton is still leading, he just cannot shake Vettel off. The McLaren driver is just 1.3sec ahead of the German while Webber is a further 2.7 behind.
SKYBET: "Early exchanges see Lewis nicely poised - he is into 1/5, with Vettel now a 10/3 shot to win the race. Webber (12/1) and Button (14/1) remain contenders, with Barrichello struggling and out to 50/1."
Lap 5: Giancarlo Fisichella, perhaps driving in his final F1 race, has also made a great start, climbing from P20 to P16. Back to the front, Lewis Hamilton is comfortably leading the way.
Lap 4: Mark Webber seems to be making contact with everyone these days. Last time it was Raikkonen and now it's Barrichello.
Lap 3: Some part came off Barrichello's car and the Brawn mechanics were initially getting ready with a new nose, but they've gone back into the garage.
Lap 2: Button is on the charge. After overtaking Barrichello, he is now closing in on now right on Mark Webber's back.
Lap 1: The major winners on lap one was Button going past his team-mate and Kovalainen moving up to P13 from P18. Super stuff from the McLaren driver.
Lap 1: Kubica is fighting Trulli for position, gives the Italian a little nudge and goes up to sixth place.
Lap 1: It's a clean start for all the front runners. Hamilton leads them around for the first lap and the rest follow. Barrichello and Webber made contact, but not much harm done.
START: And it's go at the Yas Marina Circuit.
13h02: The drivers line up on the grid and we are good to go for the 2009 season finale at Abu Dhabi.
13h00: The 20 drivers make their way around the track for the formation lap.
12h57: We are approaching 5pm local time which means the sun is starting to set. It's quite a spectacle as the floodlights take effect.
12h55: Ron Dennis has made an appearance on the grid. Bernie Ecclestone and new FIA President Jean Todt are also there.
SKYBET: "Lewis Hamilton looks set to dominate proceedings today, and he has been installed by Skybet as their 4/11 favourite to come out on top. The big names dominate the betting, with Vettel 4/11 to finish on the Podium. If you are looking for the value - why not try Raikkonen or Kovalainen to finish in the points at 8/11 and 2/1 respectively - their KERS systems should really help today."
12h50: The air temperature is 31 and the track temperature is 34.
12h45: The pitlane is now closed and the drivers can now prepare themselves mentally for the upcoming race.
12h41: It will be a day to remember for Jenson Button as this will be his first race since being crowned World Champion.

12h30: The drivers are out on the track as the pitlane is now open.
12h28: The only change to the grid sees Heikki Kovalainen - probably driving in his final race for McLaren - drop from P13 to P18 following a gearbox change.
12h21: The major battles this afternoon/evening will be between Barrichello and Vettel for second place and Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen for fifth place. In the Constructors' it's the old foes McLaren and Ferrari battling it out for third place.
12h17: SebastianVettel is starting second and has perhaps a lap more fuel than Hamilton while Mark Webber in third has about a lap more fuel than his team-mate. The Brawn GPs of Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button are both marginally lighter than Hamilton.
12h15: Lewis Hamilton is starting on pole after phenomenally quick lap on Saturday. It's been a battle of the McLarens, Brawns and Red Bulls over the weekend. Hamilton is followed by the two Red Bulls and the two Brawns.
12h10 With the World Championships already decided, the race will be a farewell party for a couple of drivers. Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, Robert Kubica and Nico Rosberg, among others, are driving their final races for their current outfits.
12h03: Today marks the end of a quite magnificent F1 season. Maybe it hasn't been great year for the likes of McLaren and Ferrari but Brawn and Red Bull have had a season to remember.
12h00: Greetings and welcome our live coverage of the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix which will be a day-night affair.
