KIMI THRIVES ON NAKED INSTINCT

Kimi Raikkonen was perhaps man of the race in Spa as he had not got a car worthy of his talents until they revised it.

The original 19 that they had in the first half of the year, wasn't working at all.

It wouldn't turn in, it was light at the rear end and there was a list of complaints from the drivers as long as your arm but those have now been put ut right.

As we have said before, Mercedes have put a lot of work into the engine and they have managed to get more horse power into it and get a degree of reliability even though Kimi had an engine problem again in Hungary.

And you think that Kimi Raikkonen won that race with a damaged undertray and with a damaged floor to the car, which was done by Felipe Massa at the start of the race.

He also said he was also having problems with the downshift on the gearbox.

Yet despite that, when Schumacher closed in a little in the last third of the race, Kimi responded and set a fastest lap himself.

He really showed that he had the measure of his rival.

There is a colleague of mine called Bob McKenzie at the Daily Express who said on a radio programme before the British Grand Prix that if McLaren won a race this year, he would run naked around Silverstone.

Now Ron, the boss of McLaren, has been quite magnanimous about it.

He wants him to carry it out but he doesn't have to be fully naked - he can keep his trainers on!

He's going to have to do it and Kimi Raikonnen said he wants to be there to see justice meted out.
