  • Thank you for your company today and do join us in four weeks' time for the Belgian Grand Prix. Cheers

  • Ladies and gentlemen that was a brilliant race. Breathtaking finish. Congratulations to Ricciardo on his second F1 victory.

  • Massa is P5 followed by Raikkonen, Vettel, Bottas, Vergne and Button.

  • Ricciardo wins the Hungarian GP and Alonso finishes second with Hamilton holding off Rosberg. That was some race.

  • Ricciardo has opened a three-second lead, but who will join him on the podium? Rosberg is all over the back of Hamilton, but the latter is not giving way. Still a few corners to go from Hamilton.

    Lap 70
  • Rosberg is now right behind Hamilton. Alonso's tyres have gone, but he's holding Hamilton up. Both Alonso and Hamilton are struggling with their tyres.

    Lap 69
  • Ricciardo has done at as he overtakes Alonso at Turn 1. That was very good from the Australian. The Red Bull man looks set for his second race win this season.

    Lap 68
  • Hamilton is given more instructions from his team. Ricciardo looks to go on the outside, but he locks up. There's another opening and this time he makes it stick. Ricciardo can now chase after Alonso.

    Lap 67
  • Another lock-up from Hamilton, looks like he is struggling for grip.

    Lap 66
  • Ricciardo lines up Hamilton and there's an opportunity to go on the outside, but the door closes quickly. Rosberg is told that if he keeps up his current pace then he will catch the top three.

    Lap 66
  • Another fastest lap from Rosberg, but it's all happening in front of him as Alonso holds of Hamilton, who in turn has Ricciardo in his mirrors.

    Lap 65
  • Alonso runs off the track and cuts the chicane. He stays in front though. Hamilton is on the radio asking if he gained an advantage.

    Lap 64
  • Fastest lap from Rosberg further down the track, but he's 21.9s behind Ricciardo in third place. Ricciardo is told he is in good shape and can overtake.

    Lap 63
  • Alonso's lead over Hamilton is now less than a second, but Ricciardo is also not too far off. Ricciardo looks in good condition to win this race as his tyres are fresher.

    Lap 62
  • Right, Ricciardo is now in Hamilton's mirrors and he's within DRS zone of the Mercedes. Rosberg is up to fourth after going on the inside of Massa.

    Lap 62
  • Rosberg has a little look at Raikkonen, but no way through. Bottas is into the pits and that sets Massa, Raikkonen and Rosberg free. Rosberg goes on the inside of Raikkonen and he moves up to P5. Massa next up for Rosberg.

    Lap 61
  • Hamilton is catching Alonso, but Ricciardo is the man on fire as he puts in another fastest lap. The gap between Hamilton and Ricciardo is now just 2.4s. Bottas' tyres are also going and he's under pressure from Massa, Raikkonen and Rosberg.

    Lap 60
  • Fastest lap from Ricciardo on the new tyres. His 1:26.783 puts him just 3.7s behind Hamilton.

    Lap 59
  • Alonso leads from Hamilton by 3.9s with Ricciardo another 4.9s behind the Mercedes driver.

    Lap 58
  • Raikkonen continues to put pressure on Massa in sixth place, but no way through at the moment. Rosberg finally pits from P3 for another set of options and he comes out in seventh place, behind Bottas, Massa and Raikkonen.

    Lap 57
  • Vettel tells the team he will go until the end on his current set of tyres. He is currently P8, 8.5s ahead of Vergne in ninth.

    Lap 56
  • Race leader Ricciardo pits and he takes on a set for softs. He rejoins in P4. That puts Alonso in the lead with Hamilton second and Rosberg third.

    Lap 55
  • Ricciardo tells the team that he is really struggling with his rear tyres. If he pits now he is likely to come out in P4.

    Lap 54
  • Rosberg again asks the team why Hamilton is not letting him through, but he's more than second behind his team-mate already.

    Lap 53
  • Ricciardo has told the team that his left-rear is going off. Hamilton has told the team that Rosberg needs to get closer. Lock-up from Massa, who is being chased by Raikkonen.

    Lap 52
  • Rosberg remains on Hamilton's tail, but he's still not close enough to get past. Rosberg wants to know 'why has he not let me through'. Hamilton is told to let him through.

    Lap 51
  • Hamilton has reported that he doesn't think his current set of medium tyres will go another 20 laps. He's not really making ground up on Alonso at the moment.

    Lap 50
  • Here's your top 10: Ricciardo, Alonso, Hamilton, Rosberg, Bottas, Massa, Raikkonen, Vettel, Vergne and Button.

    Lap 49
  • Ricciardo leads Alonso by 15.8s with Hamilton 2.1s behind the Ferrari driver. It looks like we won't have any rain for the rest of the race.

    Lap 48
  • Rosberg has closed the gap to his team-mate and he is less than a second behind Hamilton. The latter is told that Rosberg still has an other stop to make, so don't hold him up.

    Lap 47
  • That question is answered pretty quickly. Massa pits from second place and takes on another set of medium tyres. He rejoins in P6, ahead of Raikkonen.

    Lap 46
  • Ricciardo has increased his lead over Massa to 14.5s. How quickly will Alonso and go get past the Williams driver?

    Lap 45
  • Raikkonen goes on the outside of Maldonado and he's up to P7. The Lotus man heads into the pits not long after that. Alonso is closing up on Massa.

    Lap 44
  • Ricciardo leads from Massa by 13s. Will he stop again? Alonso is more than three seconds behind his former team-mate Massa.

    Lap 43
  • Vettel moves up to P9 after an easy pass on Vergne. Raikkonen pits from fourth and rejoins in P8, behind Pastor Maldonado and just ahead of Vettel. The Red Bull man looks to go on the outside a couple of times, but the Ferrari man shuts the door.

    Lap 42
  • Hamilton swapped to medium tyres. Rosberg leads the race from Massa by 11.4s with Raikkonen third and Alonso fourth.

    Lap 41
  • Hamilton pits from P1, it was a slowish one of 4.4s, and he rejoins in P5, behind Alonso. Rosberg is P6, but he is likely to have to stop again.

    Lap 40
  • It's still looking very dark, but no rain just yet. Alonso pits from the lead while Hamilton says he can go a few more laps. The Ferrari driver rejoins in fifth, behind Raikkonen.

    Lap 39
  • Hamilton is told 'one more lap'. Rosberg finally gets the better of Bottas and moves up to P9. Button has also pitted and rejoined in P13.

    Lap 38
  • Bottas is coming under pressure from Rosberg and the Williams driver locks up. Rosberg can't afford to lose too much time here. So then, Alonso leads from Hamilton, Ricciardo, Massa, Raikkonen, Button, Sutil, Magnussen, Bottas and Rosberg.

    Lap 38
  • Rosberg's stop was a bit slow as there was a problem with the right-front. Hamilton is closing in on Alonso, but Ricciardo is the fastest man on track as he posts a fastest lap of 1:27.355. Rosberg is told to push like crazy when Hamilton makes his pit stop. Hamilton should come out back in front of Rosberg.

    Lap 37
  • Vernge has swapped to mediums and rejoined in P12. Hamilton is closing in on Alonso and the gap is now less than six seconds.

    Lap 36
  • Vettel has gone into the pits following his near-crash and rejoins in P13. Ricciardo is next to line up Vergne, but there will be no battle as Vergne ducks into the pits.

    Lap 35
  • Gutierrez is out. He was in the points. Not sure why yet. Hamilton is now all over the back of Vergne. The Toro Rosso driver is holding firm though. It's second time lucky as Hamilton goes on the outside to move up to P2.

    Lap 35
  • The Mercedes pit crew are out and in comes Rosberg. The German puts on some soft tyres and rejoins in P13. Vettel has had a heart-in-mouth moment, but he somehow manages to keep it out of the wall on the start-finish straight. That allows Hamilton to move into P3.

    Lap 34
  • Vergne continues to hold off the chasing pack that includes, Rosberg, Vettel and Hamilton.

    Lap 33
  • Ricciardo is told to look after his tyres. He pitted under the previous Safety Car while the leading group stayed out.

    Lap 32
  • Button goes past Sutil and he's into the P10. Raikkonen has managed to get ahead of both Sutil and Raikkonen and he is up to P8.

    Lap 31
  • Rosberg looks to go on the inside of Vergne, but he ducks out of it. Another fastest lap from Alonso and he now has a 2.3s lead.

    Lap 30
  • Fastest lap from Alonso, a 1:29.081, helps him to open a 1.6s lead over Vergne, who is holding up the rest of the pack. Raikkonen lines up Gutierrez, but he runs wide and ends up losing a place to Sutil. DRS has been enabled again.

    Lap 29
  • Rosberg lines up Vergne, but there's no way through. The cars are still very close on the track, but no one is having a go just yet.

    Lap 28
  • This is the first time that a Ferrari is leading a grand prix this year. Hamilton is warned that Ricciardo has fresh tyres behind him.

    Lap 27
  • Alonso gets away from Vergne. Vettel is already under pressure from Hamilton, but the German's Red Bull team-mate Ricciardo is also not far behind.

    Lap 27
  • Hamilton is told it's 'critical to get past Vettel and Vergne'. His team-mate Rosberg is between the Toro Rosso and Red Bull. Kobayashi's car has stopped at Turn 12. The Safety Car is in at the end of this lap.

    Lap 26
  • Alonso leads the race from Vergne with Rosberg, Vettel and Alonso completing the top five. Rosberg complains that the Toro Rosso of Vergne lifting off when going past Perez's accident scene.

    Lap 25
  • So that's a double DNF for Force India with Hulkenberg and Perez both failing to see the chequered flag. Ricciardo pits from the lead. Massa and Bottas have also pitted, but Alonso, Vergne, Rosberg, Vettel and Alonso have stayed out.

    Lap 24
  • No surprise that the Safety Car has been deployed. Good to see the Mexican get out of his car because that was a big shunt.

    Lap 23
  • Ricciardo is now six seconds ahead of Massa, who is 0.9s ahead of Alonso. Vergne is is keeping Rosberg at bay. Massive, massive shunt as Perez crashes into the wall at the final corner.

    Lap 23
  • Button is up to P14 following his pit stop. Vettel loses it a bit, but Hamilton was not close enough to take advantage.

    Lap 22
  • Hamilton is told that his brakes are a bit too hot at the moment. First it was too cold, now it's too hot. Hamilton has another couple of looks, but Vettel defends well.

    Lap 21
  • Hamilton is on Vettel's gearbox. He first looks on the inside, but the Red Bull driver closes the door. Also no way through for Alonso on Massa for P2.

    Lap 20
  • In case you were wondering, Raikkonen is cruising along in 11th place, behind the Sauber of Gutierrez.

    Lap 20
  • Contact between Maldonado and Bianchi at the back of the grid. Both drivers are forced to pit for repairs. Fastest lap from Alonso, a 1:30.643, puts him less than a second behind Massa.

    Lap 19
  • Ricciardo has an advantage of 3.1s over Massa with Alonso another three seconds off the Williams. Hamilton is closing up on Vettel.

    Lap 18
  • Hulkenberg and Perez made contact. Here's the top 10: Ricciardo, Massa, Alonso, Vergne, Rosberg, Vettel, Hamilton, Perez, Bottas, Gutierrez.

    Lap 17
  • Hulkenberg has stopped at the final corner. It's the first time this season that he won't finish in the points.

    Lap 17
  • Ricciardo is all over the back of Button, but the McLaren driver ducks into the pits. Alonso is ahead of Rosberg. The Mercedes driver is side-by-side with Vergne and he gets past, but Vergne goes on the inside to retake the place.

    Lap 16
  • Button is still leading, but he is told he will need to come in soon. Hamilton is up to P9. Rosberg tries to have a go at Magnussen, but the McLaren driver holds firm. Vergne joins the action as well. Rosberg is forced to go defensive in P7, his team-mate is not too far behind.

    Lap 15
  • And we are off again as Ricciardo takes them across the line. Button has done the business as he goes on the outside of Ricciardo. Making good use of the inters, but he is told that 'rain is looking less likely'. A Force India runs wide and that allows Vettel to move up P8.

    Lap 14
  • McLaren believe there will be rain in the next 10m. Different weather forecasts. The Safety Car will come in at the end of this lap, if no one crashes.

    Lap 13
  • Kobayashi is told no rain is expected for the next 30m or so. Not good news for the McLaren drivers as both of them are on intermediates.

    Lap 13
  • Rosberg appears to have a problem as there's plenty of smoke coming from the back of his car. He talks to the team and it seems to be an issue with the brakes, but not a big problem it appears.

    Lap 13
  • Ericsson's car has been cleared and the Safety Car will come in this lap. Well maybe not. Grosjean has crashed under Safety Car conditions at Turn 3. The Safety Car will now stay out.

    Lap 12
  • Here's the order after that chaotic few laps: Ricciardo, Button, Massa, Rosberg, Magnussen, Vergne, Vettel, Alonso, Hulkenberg, Perez. Button and Magnussen are the only two on inters.

    Lap 12
  • The top four - Rosberg, Bottas, Vettel and Alonso - finally pit and they will rejoin at the back of the queue, well behind Magnussen. Bottas has also lost out as he comes out behind Alonso. Ricciardo is now leading on slicks. Button is on intermediates.

    Lap 11
  • Ericsson lost the back of his car and went into the barriers. Big, big shunt. Button, meanwhile, was involved in what looked like an unsafe release.

    Lap 10
  • The top four didn't come into the pits, but Button, Ricciardo, Hamilton and quite a few others have come in for option tyres. Hulkenberg and Gutierrez are side-by-side in the pits, but no harm done.

    Lap 9
  • Sutil is next up for Hamilton. Ericsson is out, his car looks a mess. The Safety Car will be deployed.

    Lap 9
  • Hamilton passes Grosjean and moves up to P14, which puts him behind Raikkonen. He goes on the inside of the Ferrari driver at Turn 1. That was way too easy.

    Lap 8
  • Just moments after setting a new fastest lap, Rosberg goes off at Turn 1, but he gets it back on track. He's having that kind of day. Button is under pressure from Ricciardo.

    Lap 8
  • Rosberg's advantage is now 7.7s. Bottas is holding up Vettel nicely for him. Alonso has dropped more than two seconds off the Red Bull's pace.

    Lap 7
  • Vettel looks to slip past Bottas on the start-finish straight, but that Mercedes power is too much in a straight line. Another off-track moment for Hamilton, who has moved up to P15.

    Lap 6
  • Vergne is told to look after his tyres as 'more rain may be coming soon'. Gutierrez, Grosjean and Bianchi have all had off-track moments, but they managed to get back on. Vettel is all over the Williams of Bottas.

    Lap 6
  • Hamilton is on the move as he is up to P19 after overtaking Ericsson and Magnussen. I'm afraid Rosberg is running away with it.

    Lap 5
  • Another fastest lap from Rosberg, a 1:44.422, puts him 5.7s ahead of Bottas. Vettel, though, is less than a second behind the Williams driver.

    Lap 5
  • Hamilton is still worried about his brakes and he's told that the brakes are still cold. His team-mate has opened a four-second lead over Bottas. So Rosberg leads from Bottas, Vettel, Alonso, Button, Ricciardo, Hulkenberg, Massa, Vergne and Perez.

    Lap 4
  • Raikkonen is up to P13, Magnussen is P20 and Hamilton P21. Alonso is right behind Vettel, but he runs wide and nearly gets caught out by Button. He remains P4. Rosberg already has a lead of more than two seconds.

    Lap 3
  • Vettel has managed to get ahead of Alonso again. Hamilton has also managed to continue after spinning at Turn 2. Button is up to fourth and Ricciardo is P5. Hamilton reports damage to front left...'the breaks just gave up'.

    Lap 2
  • And it's go, go, go at the Hungagoring. Clean start from Rosberg and Bottas tries to go in the inside of Vettel, but the German holds strong. Another go from Bottas and this time he slips past. Alonso goes on the outside of Vettel and he is up to P3. Hamilton is already off as he slipped at Turn 2.

    Lap 1
  • Still looks pretty wet on sections of the track. The whole field is on intermediates.

  • The lights go out and Rosberg leads the pack around the track. Problems for Kvyat as he has stalled.

  • We are nearly good to go. Most of the drivers are in their cars already. The track has started to dry in certain sections.

  • Here's an incredible stat for you: it's been 29 races since F1 last had a wet races. That was back in 2012 at the Brazilian GP.

  • As we said, things can change quickly and Christian Horner says more rain is expected in the next 30 minutes.

  • Well there you have it, Rosberg says he will start the race on inters. Well things can change quickly around here.

  • Most drivers are on full wets now. Vettel is one of the few ones on the intermediates, but it's doubtful that he will keep it on.

  • Vettel reports it is dry at Turns 5, 6 and 7, but wet at Turn 8. His team-mate Ricciardo wants full wets for now.

  • Maldonado, who along with Perez, Alonso and Hulkenberg, also have full wets on, has already had an off-track excursion, running off on the grass and bouncing in the gravel. Dear old Pastor!

  • Mercedes reports that Rosberg has left the garage and he has fully wet tyres on.

  • The drivers have started to make their way to the grid...well those who will start on the grid.

  • It has stopped raining, but it's still very dark overhead. We could be in for a few more showers.

  • Maldonado has had a change of gearbox so he will go from 20th to, erm, 20th.

  • The pitlane will be full today but in case you were wondering, Kevin Magnussen will start ahead of Lewis Hamilton.

  • It is chucking down now at the Hungagoring, let's hope it continues until for at least the next hour or so.

  • It's very gloomy at the Hungagoring and there have been a few spots of rain in the paddock already. Early forecasts suggest there will be rain during the race.

  • Onto Q3 and Rosberg got the better of Sebastian Vettel. The Red Bull man had provisional pole, but his German compatriot pipped him on the final lap. Valtteri Bottas and Daniel Ricciardo will start on the second row and they are followed by Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Jenson Button, Jean-Eric Vergne, Nico Hulkenberg and Kvyat. Kevin Magnussen was originally due to start P10, but he will now also start from the pitlane as his gearbox and chassis were changed after his accident.

  • Then we moved onto Q2 and it was pretty much as expected with Bianchi, Romain Grosjean, Esteban Gutierrez, Sergio Perez, Adrian Sutil and Daniil Kvyat knocked. Grosjean will start P15 and his departing words were 'so we couldn't even beat Sutil'.

  • Pastor Maldonado, Max Chilton, Kamui Kobayashi and Marcus Ericsson were the others to be knocked out in Q1.

  • It started quite early in Q1 with Lewis Hamilton's car on fire before he could even manage to set a lap. Naturally he didn't return to qualy and he will now start from the pitlane after his chassis and gearbox were changed. Then Kimi Raikkonen got knocked out by Jules Bianchi - the man who many believe will replace him at Ferrari in the long term.

  • What about qualifying yesterday, eh! No surprises to see a Mercedes starting on pole with Nico Rosberg making it three in a row, but all the drama took place in Q1.

  • Welcome to the Hungaroring in Budapest, home of the Hungarian Grand Prix. This is round 11 of the 2014 Championship and all times are local.
