Kazuki Nakajima is gearing up for his second season in F1 with Williams in the hope of a better showing that he produced in 2008.
He impressed during the 2007 GP2 series, earning the Rookie of the Year title after finishing joint fifth in the title race.
His performances in the series earned him the opportunity to test for Williams and it wasn't long before he got his first taste of Formula One having replaced Alex Wurz at Williams for the 2007 season-ending Brazilian GP.
It proved to be a bittersweet debut. Although the Japanese driver clearly displayed impressive pace, a pit-stop error resulted in two of his mechanics being sent to hospital.
However, the team have still opted to sign him for the 2008 season, which started with some impressive performances and a few top eight results.
The latter stages of the Championship, though, saw Williams suffer a dip in form as both Nakajima and team-mate Nico Rosberg battled to match the pace of the mid-field pack.
And although there were some reports that Williams could look elsewhere the team has opted to retain Nakajima for a second season in 2009.
