Eddie Jordan's reputation for grooming potential stars will be examined again as the team named Ralph Firman as their second driver for the news season.
The Norfolk-born pilot has had 10 years experience in the lesser grades culminating in overall victory in last year's Formula Nippon Championship.
Though new to Formula One, Firman is not a total novice and won the prestigious Macau GP back in 1996 when he had the likes of Jarno Trulli, Pedro de la Rosa, Juan Pablo Montoya and Nick Heidfeld behind him.
While that quartet have gone on to star at the highest level, Firman has had to wait till 2003 to get his chance.
He will benefit from racing alongside Giancarlo Fisichella, who knows the team set-up well as Jordan bid to build on a disappointing 2002 campaign.
