Club: Liverpool Eriksson is a firm admirer of the Liverpool forward, even if his
goalscoring ratio for his club has been criticised during lean spells. Heskey's
movement, pace and strength ensure that he is an all-round performer, with
several appearances on the left for England, although Eriksson favours using him
up front.
Started his career with Leicester City as a star teenager, and was nicknamed "Bruno" for his physical resemblance to former world heavyweight champion Frank Bruno.
Became Liverpool's record signing in February 2000 when he joined the Anfield giants for a fee of £11million.
Really came of age last season, helping Liverpool to three trophies.
Has played wide on the left for England, and Eriksson likes him a lot.
Favourite to start alongside Michael Owen up front in the Far East.
Scored the final goal in that amazing 5-1 romp against the Germans in Munich last September.
