The Tottenham midfielder was a member of his side's squad for Euro 2000 and his consisent displays mean he has continued to figure in the Slovenian squad.
Acimovic is often used as a late substitute and came off the bench three times in Euro 2000, coming on to replace Udovic against Yugoslavia, Pavlin against Spain and Galic against Norway.
He started his career with Olimpija Ljubljana before moving to Red Star.
And he announced he would be moving to Spurs this summer after agreeing a four-year deal in April.
His versatility - he can also operate at centre-forward - means he is always likely to play a part for his side and Tottenham fans will be looking forward to seeing their new signing in action this summer.
