South Korea have made an official complaint to the Chinese government over what it claims is "ill-willed and jealous" reporting by the Chinese media of the achievements of Guus Hiddink's side.

The Koreans feel the Chinese media have been blatantly biased against their team in their World Cup coverage.

They claim China have refused to give the team due credit for reaching the semi-finals and instead have put down their victories over Italy and Spain to biased refereeing and a conspiracy.

Korea's ambassador to Beijing, Kim Ha-joong, has sent letters of protest to the Chinese foreign ministry, the Communist Party and the various media organisations demanding an apology.

A Korean foreign affairs spokesman said: "We conveyed our stance that the Chinese media's coverage has been too much and demanded a correction."

The Koreans feel the Chinese are jealous of their team's success, while the Chinese side lost all three of their matches.

Relations between the two countries, who fought each other in the 1950-53 Korean War, have been strained for a couple of weeks since Chinese security guards forcibly dragged a North Korean defector out of the South Korean mission in Beijing.

Meanwhile, Korea's new love of all things Dutch continues to blossom and state airline Korean Air has launched a package tour to Holland.

The nine-day itinerary includes a sightseeing tour of Hiddink's home town of Varsseveld and even stops at his parents' house.

The tour also takes in Hiddink's former - and perhaps future - club PSV Eindhoven as well as trips to France and Switzerland.
