Brazil reported a clean bill of health ahead of Sunday's World Cup final as
coach Luiz Felipe Scolari put his team through their paces in Yokohama.
Scolari made no attempt to hide his intended starting line-up to face Germany
as they took on the 'reserves' in front of several hundred journalists and
photographers.
While Ronaldo chose to play in central defence alongside fellow striker
Ronaldinho amid the light-hearted session, he was showing no signs of still
being restricted by the thigh problem that has afflicted him recently.
However, he did choose to bypass the world's media in the mixed zone set up
after the training session for players talk to the press.
Ronaldo, who has already spoken of his determination to keep calm ahead of the
game, evidently did not want to face endless further questions about his seizure
before the 1998 final and subsequent lame performance.
He revealed yesterday: "Everyone keeps on reminding me of 1998 but I don't
know why. I keep on forgetting it and have no problem with it.
"I am just finding tranquillity to play a good game and to bring the title to
Brazil.
"The most important thing before the final is that the team aren't making me
feel like the saviour. That is taking away a lot of pressure from my
shoulders."
The return of Ronaldinho from a one-match suspension to replace Edilson is
expected to be the only change to the line-up which defeated Turkey in the
semi-final on Wednesday night.
That means former Middlesbrough defender Juninho is unlikely to feature in the
starting line-up, despite having played in the group stages as well as the
second round victory against Belgium.
Juninho nevertheless remained confident as he declared: "Brazil are a very
strong team and it is not just the result of 11 or 12 players. We are strong
with all 23 players.
"The people in Brazil had a very bad image of our qualifying campaign to get
here but we weren't that bad.
"We had a hard qualification but that has only made us stronger when we got
to the World Cup. I think we have got better and more confident as the
tournament has gone on."
He added: "Germany are very well organised and play very strongly. We will
have to look for space against them.
"We have never played them in the World Cup before so it will be a great
match. We will need to play in the same style as usual to beat them."
