Hiddink - given deadline to make up his mind (Allsport)
PSV SET HIDDINK DEADLINE
PSV Eindhoven chairman Harry van Raaij
has issued a make-up-your-mind ultimatum to Guus Hiddink.
PSV are believed to have approached Hiddink and offered him the vacant coach's
job at the Philips Stadium before the World Cup, during which Hiddink led South
Korea to an unlikely fourth-placed finish.
With a number of other clubs also interested in the former Real Madrid boss,
Van Raaij has set a deadline of July 7 for a definite answer so that PSV can
move for other targets should Hiddink turn them down.
"We can't wait much longer than that", said Van Raaij.
Eindhoven will begin pre-season training on Thursday with the sessions being
taken by coach Erwin Koeman and head of junior development Fred Rutten.
Hiddink has already stated that, although he enjoyed the Korean experience, he
is keen to get back into club management.
"I don't know exactly what I am going to do in the future, but I do know I
want to be on a pitch every single day and work with a team," he said today.
