England's defeated World Cup quarter-finalists landed back on British soil for
the first time in six weeks on Saturday night.
Sven-Goran Eriksson's men arrived back on a chartered British Airways Boeing
777 jet at 10.53pm at Heathrow Airport, West London.
The players, whose heartbreaking 2-1 defeat against Brazil on Friday was
watched by around 25 million fans on TV at home, were greeted by the flashbulbs
of dozens of photographers after their 12 hour, 38 minute flight from Osaka,
Japan.
Their wives and girlfriends, who flew out to Shizuoka on Thursday, accompanied
them on the flight home, which taxied from Heathrow's main runway through the
engineering section of Terminal Four.
Goalkeeper David Seaman, whose error allowed Ronaldinho's 35-yard free-kick to
drift over his head for the decisive second goal, was accompanied on the flight
by his wife Debbie, 40, daughter Georgina, two, and seven-month-old son Robbie.
