Fernando Morientes knows Spain's scoring punch
will be diminished if his Real Madrid team-mate Raul is not fit to face Korea in
tomorrow's World Cup quarter-final.
The duo were the principle reasons why Madrid won the Champions League this
season.
"We gain a lot in attack when he is there," Morientes said.
"If he's not there we lose clarity in attack, but there are other players who
have the same attitude and create chances.
"Everyone knows how important Raul is for us, but if he can't play we have to
accept the game is going to be just as hard and we have to take things
forward."
Morientes is expecting a difficult game when he lines up against the Koreans.
"It is going to be very difficult, we all know how complicated the Koreans
are," he said.
"They have knocked out a great team like Italy and we all know what this game
means but we are confident and want to get to the semi-finals."
Morientes has already netted three times in this World Cup and was confident
of adding to the total.
"I am confident of being lucky enough to score again, although the most
important thing is that tomorrow is a good day for the team," he said.
"Maybe we all have a bit more responsibility tomorrow, because they are the
quarter-finals of the World Cup and we all want to see Spain in the
semi-finals.
"They are having a great World Cup, they have quality players, who can open
up the game in a moment and I would love to meet them in the final."
