GROUP A CLOCKWATCH

    0921: The final whistle goes and Senegal have drawn 3-3 with Uruguay and they are out through in second spot in Group A.

    0920: Montero launches the ball forward but Sylva comes to the edge of the area to claim the long ball.

    0919: France are beaten 2-0 and are out of the World Cup while Denmark march on.

    0918: Uruguay have a free kick 25 yards out and Recoba is stepping up. The free kick is touched to Morales whose shot is goalbound but deflected wide by his own player.

    0917: GOAL RECOBA. Recoba steps up and strokes the peanlty away but Senegal are still qualifying because Uruguay need another goal to qualify.

    0916: Uruguay win a penalty when Morales is tripped in the area.

    0915: France are looking tired and unable to create a clear-cut chance.

    0914: Uruguay rain the crosses in but Senegal are repelling all the attacks.

    0913: Denmark are close to making it 3-0 when he takes Bogelund takes Tomasson's pass and fires into the side-netting.

    0912: France make one last change with Youri Djorkaeff coming on for Wiltord.

    0911: Uruguay pile forward again with Forlan and Morales exchanging passes but are caught on the break by Diuof but Montero is booked for deliberately hauling him back as be raced clear.

    0909: Recoba tries to release Morales but Sylva races from his line to hack the ball into touch.

    0907: Forlan has a wonderful chance to level the match at 3-3 when he races unmarked into the area but pulls his shot wide of the post.

    0905: A long punt downfield finds Diouf completely free with Uruguay looking for offside but he tamely fires his shot against the legs of Carini.

    0903: Wiltord gets behind the Danish defence yet again but trips over as he prepares to square to an unmarked Trezeguet five yards out.

    0901: France hit the woodwork yet again as Trezeguet's effort comes back off the bar.

    0900: Sorensen makes another fine save to keep France out while in the other match, Recoba tries to wriggle his way through for a Uruguay equaliser but is crowded out.

    0857: GOAL FORLAN. Second-half sub Diego Forlan keeps Uruguay's slim hopes alive when a free kick is headed out to the D and Forlan returns a brilliant volley after chesting the ball down.

    0855: GOAL TOMASSON. France are going out of the World Cup as Denmark take a 2-0 lead when Gronkjaer has space down the left and Tomasson is unmarked in the middle to fire past exposed Barthez.

    0854: Cisse gets space down the left and whips over a dangerous cross which Trezeguet is inches away from.

    0852: France continue to probe but a neat one-two between Wiltord and Cisse ends with Wiltord being blocked off on the edge of the area.

    0850: France cut the Danes apart again but Wiltord is flagged offside as he volleys straight at Sorensen.

    0848: Denmark's Gronkjaer gets some space down the left and fires over the bar.

    0846: Trezeguet heads the ball down for Zidane but his volley is charged down by the massed Denmark defence.

    0844: Zidane beautifully steps round two tackles and feeds Cisse who lashes a shot against Laursen and the Danes then hack the ball clear.

    0842: Djibril Cisse comes on for France to replace Dugarry.

    0841: Senegal's El Hajdi Diouf cuts in from the left but fires just wide.

    0838: Another cross comes in from the right but France's Trezeguet is inches away from meeting it.

    0835: France win a second corner in a row as the pressure builds and Zidane's flag kick finds the head of Desailly who smacks an effort against the crossbar.

    0833: GOAL MORALES. Uruguay less than two minutes to pull a goal back when Dario Silva squares for Richard Morales to tap in from three yards.

    0832: The action is under way at Incheon with France needing a miracle to survive and Uruguay the same against Senegal. Denmark brng on Gronkjaer to replace Jorgensen.

    0818: The first half ends at Suwon with scuffling among both sets of players as Senegal are in round two unless Uruguay can produce a sensational turnaround in the second half.

    0817: The half-time whistle goes at Incheon where France are 45 minutes away from exiting the World Cup and they need at least three second-half goals to survive.

    0816: Senegal are close to scoring again but Carini pounces among the bodies to snap up the loose ball.

    0814: Wiltord cuts inside, plays a neat one-two and fires a low left-foot shot that Sorensen dives full length to save.

    0813: A superb move involving Zidane, Wiltord and Trezeguet ends with Danish keeper Sorensen diving at the feet of two forwards.

    0811: France are now camped in the Danish half but the ball forward towards Zidane is well claimed by Sorensen.

    0809: Zidane, coming more and more into the game, is so close with a curling shot that is inches wide.

    0808: GOAL DIOP. Senegal are absolutely cruising at 3-0 as Camara's right-wing cross is volleyed in by Pape Bouba Diop off the underside of the bar.

    0806: Trezeguet's chip tries to find France's Zidane sneaking into the area but Martin Laursen reads the danger and heads clear.

    0804: Uruguay are fighting back but need at least four goals now to have any chance of qualifying provided France can fight back and win.

    0802: France's Wiltord tries to burst through the middle but he is crowded out before he can get a shot in.

    0800: Dugaary gets down the left and crosses for Trezeguet but the French hit-man's downward header is well saved by Sorensen.

    0759: Rommedahl makes a break down the right but the ball is cleared by Thuram.

    0757: GOAL PAPE BOUBA DIOP. Senegal are on their way to the last 16 as another lightning break by Camara outstrips the Uruguay defence and squares it superbly for Bouba Diop to rifle into the top corner to make it 2-0.

    0756: Zidane trips Thomas Gravesen but the free kick is headed clear by Desailly.

    0754: GOAL ROMMEDAHL. France are in deep trouble as the Danes take the lead when Stig Tofting's deep cross goes beyond the far post where the unseen Dennis Rommedahl comes in to fire to half-volley past Fabien Barthez and the French now need three goals to stay in the World Cup.

    0753: France almost get Zidane in round the back of the Danish defence but he cannot control the ball and falls over.

    0751: GOAL FADIGA. Senegal are in front as El Hadji Diouf goes down under the challenge of keeper Fabian Carini though contact appears to be minimal and Fadiga steps up to blast it past the keeper's right hand.

    0750: France should be in front but Terzegeut shoots from a tight angle when a square ball would have left Wiltord with an open goal.

    0749: Uruguay send a through ball to Silva but Senegal keeper Sylva reads the danger well.

    0747: France almost get David Trezeguet into the clear but keeper Thomas Sorensen comes out to grab the ball as the striker arrives.

    0746: After some early Uruguay pressure, Senegal are coming back into the game and a blazing run by Henri Camara is foiled as he tries to release Khalilou Fadiga on the left.

    0744: Zidane comes into the game at last with a testing ball for Sylvain Wiltord to chase but the Arsenal winger shoves over Niclas Jensen as the pair tussle for it.

    0743: A long ball goes over the top of the French defence for Tomasson but he screws his shot across goal.

    0742: France's Dugarry is booked for stopping Stig Tofting taking a quick throw.

    0741: Uruguay's Marcelo Romero is yellow-carded and becomes the third into the notebook inside 10 minutes.

    0740: A deep cross beats the whole of the Senegal defence and falls to Silva who chests it down but blasts an angled volley over the bar.

    0738: A long ball down the middle from Uruguay's Paolo Montero is headed clear right on the edge of his box by keeper Tony Sylva.

    0736: Omar Daf becomes the second Senegal player booked for hacking down Alvaro Recoba.

    0735: France's Patrick Vieira charges down the middle but his shot is blocked.

    0734: Senegal's Henri Camara is yellow-carded for a foul on Dario Silva.

    0731: The action is under way between France and Denmark.

    0730: The action is under way between Senegal and Uruguay.

    Pre-match: It's a big day for France and playmaker Zinedine Zidane starts the match with the French needing a two-goal victory over the Danes to ensure progress. Henry and Petit are suspended and replaced by Christophe Dugarry and Claude Makelele. Denmark use attacking midfielder Martin Jorgensen in place of striker Ebbe Sand while Jesper Gronkjaer is unfit and is replaced by Christian Poulsen. In the other Group A decider, surprise package Senegal need just a point against Uruguay, who can still qualify if they win by a greater margin that any France victory.
