Liverpool defender Abel Xavier is out of Portugal's World Cup opener against
the USA in Suwon on Wednesday.
Xavier suffered a thigh strain in training on Thursday and had a scan in Seoul
on Friday.
That revealed a small rupture which will sideline for at least the USA clash.
The team doctor estimates Xavier will be sidelined for eight to 10 days making
him doubtful for the game against Poland in Jeonju on June 10.
