Denmark coach Morten Olsen admits Group A is likely to boil down to a battle
with Uruguay and Senegal for second place behind France.
Olsen fully expects France, who opened their campaign against Senegal today,
to justify their mantle as world champions and top the group.
That would leave the remaining three sides scrapping for the other coveted
ticket to the second round and Olsen feels it could be very close.
"I think if you look at the group, you have to say that France surely as
world champions must be the favourites," he said.
"After that it is between Denmark, Senegal and Uruguay for the runners-up
spot.
"I don't think there's a big difference between those three sides and I think
it will be a very tight group."
In the end it could come down to which team is on form on the day."
That said, Denmark's opening game against Uruguay in Ulsan's Munsu Stadium
could hardly be more important.
Olsen has no injury worries going into the potentially decisive clash and
Uruguay coach Victor Pua must be wishing he could say the same.
Pua has three injuries to his squad, including star striker Alvaro Recoba.
Recoba injured his knee in training, but should be fit to play, but definitely
out is defender Alejandro Lembo, while forward Fabian O'Neill is expected to
miss out with Achilles trouble.
