Russian medical staff are battling to get key
midfielder Alexandr Mostovoi fit for the opening Group H clash with Tunisia on
June 5.
Mostovoi tore a hamstring against Yugoslavia on Sunday and it was feared he
could miss out against the Tunisians.
However, Russian team doctor Yuri Vasilkov has offered hope to coach Oleg
Romantsev that the 33-year-old Celta Vigo skipper will be fine.
"We'll try to prepare Mostovoi for the first match," Vasilkov told Moscow
daily Sport-Express.
"It depends on what course the processes of cure and recovery will take.
"Mostovoi will prepare according to an individual programme."
