AMERICANS BEATEN
USA's World Cup send-off ended in a 2-0 defeat against Holland at the CMGI
Field in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
The States went into the clash looking to extend their excellent run of 10
matches without defeat at home this year.
But they were undone by a goal from Roy Makaay, against the run of play, just
before half time and 15 minutes from time Andy van der Meyde got Holland's
second goal when he scored on his international debut.
