Laursen - lost his place at Milan (Allsport)
MARTIN LAURSEN
Position: Defender
Born: 26.07.77
Club: AC Milan
Over recent months Martin Laursen has been linked with a move to Tottenham but on each occasion the Danish defender has stressed that he is happy to stay and fight for his place at AC Milan.
Laursen joined Milan from Parma and after making a good start at the San Siro his form has dipped in recent months and following the arrival of coach Carlo Ancelotti he has struggled to get a game.
However, he played a leading role in Denmark's World Cup qualifying campaign and it looks like Morten Olsen will keep faith with him for the finals.
A former under-21 regular Laursen went to Euro 2000 as a squad player but even then was seen as a player with a big international future.
He is a solid full-back who is good in the air and dangerous when going forward.
His experiences in Italy, where he has also played for Verona and Parma, have improved him as a player and he will head to Korea and Japan as one of Denmark's more high-profile players.
