One of the 'old heads' in the Japan squad, Nakayama is the only Japanese player to have scored in a World Cup game.
The striker, nicknamed 'Gon', netted against Jamaica in 1998 and his experience of that tournament will be vital for the squad.
Reads the game very well and always seems to be on the end of crosses as well as being good in the air, making him a frequent target for long goal-kicks or corners.
