One of the two surprise selections in Alexander Guimares' squad.

Along with fellow call-up Daniel Vallejo, the San Carlos defender impressed for the Costa Rican youth team last year and was drafted into the full squad for their two-game tour of Japan and Korea recently.

He impressed sufficiently there to earn a World Cup call and will now be looking to take the next step forward.
