Picture Dugarry has recovered from injury (Allsport).

CHRISTOPHE DUGARRY

Position: Forward
Born: 24.03.72
Club: Bordeaux

Dugarry is eyeing the second striker's spot at the World Cup following his return from injury, but he is expected to fall behind Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet in the reckoning.

Also featured on home soil four years ago, Dugarry plays in a creative role and has a disappointing return of seven goals in 47 games.

A big influence on Bordeaux, he has failed to cut it out of France in disappointing spells at AC Milan and Barcelona. Could feature in midfield.

Skilful player who isn't a prolific goalscorer. Played well in Euro 2000, and will be hoping to do so again in the Far East.

His World Cup dreams were in doubt late last year when he suffered a knee injury in a tackle with Australia's Kevin Muscat.

But he came back quickly and will be champing at the bit for a finals place.
