Born: 31.08.78
Club: Barcelona Left the struggling Monaco team last summer to join Barcelona and has little
experience of international football. A tough centre-back, he won 16 France
Under-21 caps and also played for the Under-18s. Barca's backline was regarded
as a significant weakness in the 2000-01 season, but the arrivals of
Christanval and Patrik Andersson last summer covered up the cracks. Hugely promising player who is seen by many as the replacement for the great Laurent Blanc.
Must go some to live up to that lofty reputation however.
