Free-scoring striker who has put a disappointing spell at Spanish ginats Deportivo behind him during a successful loan spell with Mexican side Cruz Azul.

He has been the top scorer in the Mexican League this season after Cruz Azul splashed out £500,000 to take him away from Coruna for one year.

His outstanding form earned him a recall to the national side and led to thoughts of a return to La Liga with Deportivo for next term.

The explosive forward - nicknamed El Loco - arrived at the Riazor from Argentinian side San Lorenzo after spending his formative years in his native land with Defensor Sporting.

He had been top scorer for San Lorenzo in the 2001 Libertadores Cup tournament and Deportivo had to win a keen race for his signature.
