The World Cup has come at a perfect time for Tony Sylva as he looks to relaunch his career.

The Senegal keeper has suffered a frustrating time in the French league with Monaco, where he has not played a game this season.

But he showed his inaction had not affected his form with a string of fine displays as Senegal made the final of the African Nations Cup earlier this year.

Sylva was named goalkeeper of the tournament after conceding just one goal in the competition (excluding penalty shoot-outs) as Senegal shocked many pundits.

His cool head and agility marked him out as a hot property, yet he still failed to force his way into the Monaco side.

So he will be hoping a good tournament this summer will see him earn a move away from the French side.
