John O'Brien - talented midfielder (Allsport).
JOHN O'BRIEN

Born: 29.08.77
Club: Ajax Left-sided midfielder who left California at the age of 17 to join the famed Ajax youth academy.
Has since had a spell at FC Utrecht before returning to the giants from the capital.
Made his international debut against Austria in 1998, and has since become an important part of the national team.
Was also in the side that took part in the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
His loan spell at Utrecht was a real benefit to O'Brien, and once back in the capital he began to make an impression there.
The battle for places in midfield this summer will be hot, but O'Brien will be right at the forefront.
Enjoyed a good season for Ajax as they took their first Eredivisie title since 1998.
