Picture Pletikosa - considering Premiership switch. (Allsport)

STIPE PLETIKOSA

Position: Goalkeeper
Born: 08.01.79
Club: Hajduk Split

Highly-rated young keeper Stipe Pletikosa looks a certainty to be Mirko Jokic's first-choice stopper in Japan/Korea.

The 23-year-old Hajduk Split star's performances have attracted attention from a number of Europe's top clubs and he was on the verge of signing for Marseille in 2001.

That deal fell through however and, after a short spell with Standard Liege, he returned to Croatia.

There has also been no shortage of interest from English clubs such as Tottenham, Chelsea and Derby County and a move to the Premiership could well be on the cards after the World Cup.

Capped 16 times at international level, Pletikosa made his debut for the national side against Denmark in 1999.
